The EVP 2008 business travel trade show welcomed more than 2800 visitors who, once again, have helped to make these two days of exchanges a great success.

I want to thank all our partners who, thanks to the quality of their stands and the enthusiasm and highly professional services of their employees, contributed so much to the success of EVP 2008. Their involvement, which was crucial to the quality of the exchanges, was an essential part of the serious and yet congenial spirit and atmosphere of EVP, which facilitated meetings and the development of new relations between all those involved.

The number and quality of visitors are proof not only of the importance you give to this event, to the constant need to grasp the changes and trends in our business, but also of the need to benchmark our practices and to exchange views with all those involved during EVP.

With its wide coverage of Europe, the Barometer website, the indicator for Europe in 2008, provides a summary of changes in our business sector and an analysis of major current trends in Europe. It also points out new and significant behavioural patterns, depending on budgets or market conditions, and illustrates the increasingly important part played by, and changes to TMC (Traffic Message Channel).

Our teams were very pleased to exchange views with you, our clients and partners, on the products and solutions that we can provide today, both in the course of the many thematic workshops and in more informal moments, such as the drinks parties held during those two working days.

The interest you showed in EVP rewarded us both for our efforts in innovation and for all the work our teams and our partners put into serving our clients.

I would like to thank all our visitors, and all the exhibitors, as well as the American Express staff whose combined efforts made such a success of this 2008 edition as reported in the media.
